Strategic Engagement Department
Ms. Melissa Williams is a proud Crusader alumna from the class of 2007, and has enjoyed working at her alma mater since completing her bachelor's degree at UMHB. She then earned her Master of Arts in Human Services degree specializing in Executive Leadership from Liberty University in January of 2011.
She serves as the Director of Strategic Engagement in the College of Health Sciences. In this role she manages marketing, communications, branding, events and recruiting for the college. Melissa began her time working at UMHB as the Assistant Director of Alumni Relations, and then in October of 2012 became the Director of Graduate Admissions. After experiencing marked growth in the Graduate School, Melissa was named the Director of Graduate Student Services & Engagement where she served until May 2018 when she transitioned into her current role.
During Melissa's years as a student at UMHB she was involved in writing for The Bells campus newspaper, serving as a Resident Assistant, helped in hosting residence life events for students in the apartments, participated in Stunt Night, Revivial and many other campus events.
Melissa enjoys spending time traveling, eating at newly discovered restaurants, and relaxing at coffee shops with her husband, Les, who is also a proud UMHB graduate. Traveling internationally to participate in and lead mission trips is a passion as she desires to share the love of Christ with the nations. Lastly, she is very involved within her church, FBC Belton, where she serves on the praise team for the contemporary worship service and leads the youth praise team.
