Dr. Jamey R. Plunk
Exercise and Sport Science Department
Jamey was raised in Argentina, South America. He came to live in the Unites States when he was 17 years of age. Not unlike many professionals in his field, he participated in several sports competitively in his teenage years resulting in an interest and passion for fitness and health. His chosen academic pursuits are a reflection of his daily interests which have led him to the profession he now thoroughly enjoys. Jamey has been an avid triathlete for 23 years competing in races of every distance. In addition Jamey has completed several marathons, adventure races and has recently begun a pursuit as an endurance trail runner. Jamey considers himself a practitioner of the science of exercise and as such has spent a lifetime modeling fitness and sport performance. Jamey has been happily married to Miriam Ann for 21 years now and has two amazing children, Tori and Zachary. Tori is a freshman at Baylor University and Zachary is a sophomore in high school. Although Jamey has thoroughly enjoyed his academic and physical pursuits in the field of Exercise Science, he considers his family his greatest joy.

One must develop an instinct for what one can
barely achieve through one’s greatest efforts”
