Dr. Patricia Nelson PT, ScD, OCS, FAAOMPT
Patty is Associate Professor at UMHB, having joined the faculty after teaching in another DPT program for 8 years. She has been a PT for 29 years and has continued her clinical practice as well as teaching continuing education courses despite her move to academia. Patty is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists so focuses her practice around manual therapy care. She continues to be involved with the Women's Health section having co-chaired the task force that updated the entry-level DPT curriculum guidelines. She looks forward to opportunities to be involved in the Texas PT chapter.
Patty and Her husband Jim have been married for 29 years and have 2 college aged children. They are practicing Lutheran's and will be joining a local faith community.
