Favorite Thing About UMHB
One of my favorite things about UMHB is how connected our Alumni are to current students. During my undergraduate years, I had the opportunity to work in the Alumni Center, and see how much they love working with students. Now as an alumna, I enjoy spending time with current students and hearing their experiences. As an Admissions Counselor, I love sharing my experiences to incoming students every day.
I found UMHB through an alumna friend who spent her summers in Hawaii. She brought me with her during my senior year, and the moment I stepped on campus, I fell in love with this university. During my time here, I was involved in Welcome Week, First Year Council, Crusader Knights, Missions Emphasis Week, Miss MHB, Revival and Student Foundation. I also met my future husband on the Revival Steering committee doing ministry. I love photography, traveling to Austin on the weekends and spending time with people.
I have traveled to 22 states.
I ended up choosing UMHB not just because it was a beautiful establishment, but also because this place is where I felt the Lord leading me. Before coming to UMHB, I had looked at 8 different universities, and none of them were the right fit for me. UMHB felt like home, and that was and is something important to me, since I am so far from home. I felt a sense of Christ-like community and a togetherness t that I did not realize I needed until after I was enrolled in classes. Even after graduation I chose to stay, which is a very unique opportunity I have.
