Dr. Nathaniel L. Hansen
Supervisor, Writer's Festival & Editor, Windhover Journal
Dr. Hansen was born and raised in Sleepy Eye, Minnesota. He has taught creative writing, literature, and composition at UMHB since 2012. He taught previously at colleges and universities in Minnesota, Washington, Oregon, South Dakota, and Ohio.
In 2014, Spoon River Poetry Press published his chapbook, Four Seasons West of the 95th Meridian.
His poetry, fiction, and nonfiction has also appeared in such publications as Split Lip Magazine, Christianity and Literature, St. Katherine Review, Whitefish Review, Driftwood Press,The Cresset, Midwestern Gothic, Red Weather, The Passionate Transitory, Bluestem, Bryant Literary Review, The Evansville Review, and South Dakota Review, among others.
Dr. Hansen is the editor of UMHB's national literary journal, The Windhover, and directs the annual Windhover Writers' Festival, held each February. From 2011-2014 he edited the online literary quarterly, The Blue Bear Review, a journal he founded.
When not reading or writing, he enjoys running, disc golf, and playing keys at Vista Community Church.
