Favorite Thing About UMHB
The people! I hold great value in relationships. Something that UMHB does really well is connecting students and creating great support systems. I know that leaving your family and friends back home can feel daunting but in so many ways, UMHB lifts students up and makes them feel loved!
My name is Austin Daron and I am from Spring, Texas. I now recruit for the Southeast Texas area and I am thoroughly excited to get the chance to recruit in the place I was born and raised! I graduated from UMHB with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and I am now working towards my Master’s degree here in Mental Clinical Health Counseling. I absolutely loved my experience at UMHB, so much so that I never left! I am thrilled to be able to help students understand how amazing UMHB is and what going here could mean for them.
On my first year as an Admissions Counselor, I had a huge beard!
My UMHB Journey
My journey to UMHB started when my best friend urged me to visit campus with him. He was already planning on attending but thought that I should check it out too. I begrudgingly went but I ended up falling in love with the campus. Everyone was so friendly; it was the personal, inviting environment I was searching for. While on campus, I was involved in many things on campus: Easter Pageant, Crusader Knights, intramural sports, and even Miss MHB! I understand how difficult the admissions process can feel so I am here to help make this a smooth process for you and your family.
