Favorite Thing About UMHB
The thing that stands out most to me about UMHB is the people. Everyone, from my friends to professors, has been caring and sincere. People will drop what they are doing if you ever need a helping hand. The atmosphere and culture at UMHB is something special.
I am from a small town in South Texas, but now I call Belton home. I am currently the recruiter for the South Texas area, and I love working with students who come from my neck of the woods! I enjoy eating good food, reading books, or doing anything outdoors. My favorite hobbies include rock climbing, fishing, and playing pick-up basketball. I am a volunteer for Young Life, currently serving at the Belton and Temple high schools.
I have kayaked more than 500 miles in British Colombia, Canada.
It all started on a dark and stormy night, when a sweet little 8 lb. 6 oz. baby was born. Fast forward 18 years, and I still had no idea what I was doing--that is, until I found UMHB. Once I came to campus, I thought, "This is the place for me." I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Christian Studies with a minor in International Business. During my studies, I was able to study abroad in Ecuador and the Dominican Repulic. During my time here, I was involved with First Year Council, Crusader Knights, Young Life, Go Now Missions, and I made some awesome friends along the way. It was definitely an experience of a lifetime.
